As an important step in the preparation of the second edition of the IFAD Evaluation Manual, the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD (IOE) has organized a one-day workshop on evaluation methodology on 20 June.

The event was held with a view to stimulating discussions on key evaluation methodological and process fundamentals that will be captured in the revised Evaluation Manual, which is expected to be finalized in 2015. The debate also focused on the main changes in IFAD priorities and operating model since 2009, and their implications for IOE evaluation methodology and processes.

In addition to IFAD staff and consultants, the workshop benefited from the participation of colleagues from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, as well as colleagues from the IFAD Management and selected IOE consultants.
