On 20 September, IOE held a two-session workshop. The first session  discussed Understanding Exceptional Projects, which was the learning theme of this year's 2013 Annual Report on Results and Impact of IFAD Operations (ARRI). The discussion  focused on examining successful and unsuccessful IFAD-funded projects in different country contexts, with a special emphasis on fragile states and middle-income countries. The issues paper served as the main background documentation. In the second session, IOE presented the independent evaluation work programme for 2014.

The workshop was attended by over 60 participants, including CPMs, IFAD AVP PMD, directors, SDC and Executive Board representatives, staff from the evaluation offices of FAO and WFP.
