Fumiko is a senior evaluation officer. Her work experience has mainly been in the area of agricultural and rural development, both in operations and evaluation. Since she joined IOE in 2013, Fumiko has led a number of evaluations at project and country-levels, as well as the preparation of evaluation synthesis reports. Prior to taking up the post in the Independent valuation Office, she worked in the IFAD programme management department for over 10 years, managing country programmes and regional initiatives in East and Southern Africa. Prior to joining IFAD, she also worked with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, in Tokyo and Zimbabwe.
