On Tuesday 16 November, the “Integrating Environment into Evaluations” webinar took place from 9.00 to 10.30 EST. The event was organized by the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG) Evaluation Practice Exchange (EPE), in cooperation with the Footprint Evaluation Project of the Global Evaluation Initiative.

The webinar discussed the fact that the environmental dimension is often treated as an afterthought in policies, programmes and evaluations, and explored the efforts made by the UNEG Working Group on Integrating Environmental and Social Impact into Evaluations (ESI) to develop guidance that would help UNEG members enhance their performance in this respect. The Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD (IOE) is a founding member and co-coordinator of ESI, which is dedicated to mainstreaming the assessment of environmental and social impact in all evaluations.

Mr Suppiramaniam Nanthikesan, Lead Evaluation Officer, IOE, delivered a presentation, providing “Considerations from non-environmental agencies” from the IOE-IFAD perspective.
