The first Evaluation Week of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will take place in London, from the 11th to the 15th of March 2024. Organized by EBRD’s independent Evaluation Department, the week-long event will take place under the theme “collaboration within and across international financial institutions”. The rationale underpinning the selection of the theme is to showcase how evaluation can contribute to the pledge made by the multilateral development banks at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Bretton Woods institutions ‘strengthen collaboration for greater impact’. The event will also encapsulate the Spring meeting of the Evaluation Cooperation Group, which will place on the 12th and 13th of March 2024. Dr Indran A. Naidoo and Mr Fabrizio Felloni, IOE Director and Deputy Director, respectively, will represent the office throughout these events.

On the first day of the Evaluation Week, Mr Felloni will deliver a presentation on ‘Evaluating IFAD’s Engagement in pro-poor Value Chain Development’, in the context of the session titled ‘Pro Poor Value Chains and Agribusiness’. The presentation will draw from the findings of the IOE corporate level evaluation of IFAD’s engagement in pro-poor value chain development. While the evaluation was carried out in 2019, its findings remain very relevant.
