In December 2012 the IFAD's Executive Board requested the Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) to prepare a Synthesis Report on Water Conservation and Management reviewing:

• how IFAD has responded to the emerging issues of rural water security and governance;
• whether IFAD's investments on water have met their intended objectives and are sustainable; and
• opportunities for further enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of IFAD's investments in this sub-sector.

Mattia Prayer Galletti, Senior Evaluation Officer, IOE and Crispino Lobo, Lead Consultant IOE  presented the findings of the Evaluation Synthesis and remarks were given by representatives from the Programme Management Department, Strategy and Knowledge Department and the Policy and Technical Advisory Division. There was also a Q&A in plenary session.
